ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client, a global bank, is currently vetting candidates for an M&A Associate I/II for their growing office in NYC.

Overview
The M&A Associate will play a key role in supporting the execution of mergers and acquisitions across Latin America. Working within a global corporate and investment banking platform, the role combines financial analysis, valuation, client interaction, and transaction execution in a fast-paced, cross-border environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct detailed financial modeling, valuation, and analysis to support M&A and strategic advisory assignments.
- Prepare client presentations, pitch materials, and transaction documents.
- Assist in the execution of live deals, including due diligence coordination, data analysis, and drafting of marketing materials.
- Support origination efforts by researching industry trends, potential targets/acquirers, and market dynamics across Latin America.
- Collaborate with senior bankers and product partners across geographies to deliver integrated financial solutions.
- Interact with clients, advisors, and internal teams throughout transaction processes.
- Monitor relevant market and economic developments impacting clients and transactions.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred for Associate II level.
- Typically 3–6 years of experience in investment banking, M&A advisory, or corporate development, ideally with emerging markets or LatAm exposure.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and financial modeling skills.
- Proficiency in valuation techniques (DCF, comparables, precedent transactions).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Portuguese or Spanish fluency required
