ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client, a leading Japanese bank, is seeking a senior professional to lead its Corporate & Investment Banking business in Brazil.
The role will combine overall responsibility for the business with direct senior-level coverage and origination. The successful candidate will lead the local team, develop the strategy and pipeline for Brazil, and personally manage relationships with major Brazilian and multinational corporate clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Corporate & Investment Banking business in Brazil.
- Develop and execute the business strategy for the Brazilian market.
- Originate and manage senior relationships with major Brazilian corporations, financial sponsors and multinational clients.
- Identify and develop opportunities across corporate lending, structured finance, debt capital markets, trade finance and other relevant banking products.
- Lead transactions from origination through execution and closing.
- Coordinate with product teams and regional and global colleagues to deliver integrated solutions to clients.
- Manage the local business pipeline, client coverage priorities and revenue objectives.
- Maintain appropriate credit discipline and work closely with internal risk, legal and compliance teams.
- Lead and develop the local Corporate & Investment Banking team.
- Represent the bank with senior clients and relevant market participants.
Candidate Profile:
- Significant experience in Corporate and Investment Banking in Brazil.
- Strong senior-level relationships with Brazilian corporate clients.
- Demonstrated origination and transaction execution experience.
- Broad understanding of lending, capital markets and corporate finance products.
- Experience leading a business, team or major client-coverage platform.
- Ability to work effectively within a global banking organization and coordinate across multiple product and geographic teams.
- Strong leadership, commercial judgment and client-management skills.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English.
- Based in São Paulo.
