ABOUT THE ROLE

ROLE AND TEAM:
Our client is seeking a senior structurer to lead the execution of private credit transactions across Latin America, from term sheet through to Investment Committee approval and closing.

The role combines technical structuring expertise with commercial instincts and deep market knowledge. The individual will partner closely with the origination team to shape deal terms early, own the due diligence process end to end, and negotiate directly with counterparties, sponsors and counsel. This role is rewarding for an individual who thrives on operating commercially rather than purely as a technical resource, with direct access to senior stakeholders and the Investment Committee.

Given the breadth of the role, it is anticipated that this individual will focus on structuring and execution while supporting origination efforts opportunistically, including relationship-building and early deal screening.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Required:
- 10+ years in private credit structuring, leveraged finance or restructuring, with direct Latin America transaction experience.
- Demonstrated track record structuring and closing cross-border Latin America credit transactions.
- Deep familiarity with jurisdiction-specific legal and structuring frameworks across Latin American markets.
- Experience authoring and presenting IC memos to senior investment committees.
- Comfort operating commercially, not purely as a technical resource, including direct sponsor and counterparty negotiation.

Desirable but not required:
- Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese (strongly preferred).
- Law degree, MBA or CFA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead structuring of term sheets, applying market and jurisdiction-appropriate structures (security packages, covenant frameworks, intercreditor arrangements, FX and repatriation mechanics)
- Own the due diligence process end to end, coordinating legal, tax and financial workstreams
- Draft and present Investment Committee memos, articulating risk, structure rationale and return profile
- Partner with origination to shape deal terms early, ensuring structures are commercially viable and executable
- Advise on jurisdiction-specific structuring nuances (e.g. Mexican fideicomiso structures, Brazilian CVM/ANBIMA considerations, cross-border security enforceability)
- Negotiate directly with counterparties, sponsors and counsel through to closing
- Maintain working knowledge of regulatory and legal developments across target Latin American markets that affect structuring options
- Support origination efforts opportunistically, including relationship-building and early deal screening

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
- Technically rigorous, with strong commercial judgement
- Autonomous and independent, creative problem solver
- Anticipate potential issues and proactively acts upon these
- Strong interpersonal skills and relationship building
- Confident negotiator with sponsors, counterparties and counsel
- Possess multi-tasking skills and ability to work well under time pressure
- Collaborative team player across origination, investment and legal teams
- Sound judgement and able to act with discretion at all times
