Summary: This is a unique opportunity to join a small, unusually qualified, and highly experienced professional team working on cutting-edge environmental initiatives in markets and finance in an extremely results-oriented setting. Background: Our Client is a medium-sized charitable foundation whose mission is to help stabilize Earth's biodiversity and ecological processes for the benefit of humanity. They capitalize on their business and financial expertise by acting as a non-profit boutique investment bank for the environment: they source deals, structure them, lead their execution as appropriate, and syndicate the funding to other donors, for whom they act as fiduciaries. They are expanding their activities and are seeking a Senior Program Officer to become an integral member of their team. Position: The Senior Program Officer will work directly with their Executive Director and their Founder and Trustee in developing strategy and selecting projects to execute. During the execution phase, the Officer will be a leader in driving projects to successful conclusion. This will include managing diverse elements including project strategy and organization, project resourcing, and leadership of conservation finance deals or public-policy initiatives. We seek a highly motivated person who is interested in contributing to a crucial set of environmental objectives in a highly professional and rewarding team environment.

Qualifications: Several years experience in running finance deals at a Wall Street firm or other relevant project-management experience. Most likely this person will come from an Investment Banking background, Project Finance experience is also very applicable. Strategic thinker with strong execution orientation and analytical ability Maturity and presence needed to influence and manage third parties independently Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously Highly organized and detail-oriented Desire and ability to work collaboratively and flexibly in a small team environment do-what-it-takes attitude Desire to do environmental work is a must; understanding of environmental issues is desirable but not a requirement Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese strongly preferred MBA desirable Willingness to travel approximately 2-3 times per month Salary and Benefits: Highly competitive by non-profit standards
